My Role

The role i have chosen within my group is to be the camera person i chose to be this because i have experience in being a camera person in previous projects i have participated in. My role entails capturing all the footage that is in our documentary i am required to shoot all the cutaways within the documentarys and the framing of all interviews. In order to frame the interviews well and correctly i need to apply the rule of thirds, The basic principle behind the rule of thirds is to imagine breaking an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so that you have 9 parts, this is to give the effect of a balanced image, like the image shown on the top right. When framing my interviews i also need to take into account the locations lighting and sound as the group will be sharing the role of sound, i will also have to make sure no objects get in the way of or break up the shot i.e a plant pot behind someones head. ideally i would like to capture my interviews like the image below.
